2011-03-20i2c: Get rid of <linux/i2c-id.h>Jean Delvare1-37/+0
The last remaining ID in <linux/i2c-id.h> is no longer used anywhere, so we can finally get rid of it. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org>
2010-11-15i2c: Delete unused adapter IDsJean Delvare1-22/+0
Delete unused I2C adapter IDs. Special cases are: * I2C_HW_B_RIVA was still set in driver rivafb, however no other driver is ever looking for this value, so we can safely remove it. * I2C_HW_B_HDPVR is used in staging driver lirc_zilog, however no adapter ID is ever set to this value, so the code in question never runs. As the code additionally expects that I2C_HW_B_HDPVR may not be defined, we can delete it now and let the lirc_zilog driver maintainer rewrite this piece of code. Big thanks for Hans Verkuil for doing all the hard work :) Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Acked-by: Jarod Wilson <jarod@redhat.com> Acked-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com> Acked-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil@xs4all.nl>

2009-03-30V4L/DVB (11096): V4L2 Driver for the Hauppauge HD PVR usb capture deviceJanne Grunau1-0/+1
The device encodes component video up to 1080i to a MPEG-TS stream with H.264 video and stereo AAC audio. Newer firmwares accept also AC3 (up to 5.1) audio over optical SPDIF without reencoding. Firmware upgrade is unimplemeted but rather unimportant since the firmware sits on a flash chip. The I2C adapter to drive the integrated infrared receiver/sender is currently disabled due to a conflict with cx18-based devices. 2008-07-20V4L/DVB (8246): tvaudio: Stop I2C driver ID abuseJean Delvare1-7/+0
The tvaudio driver is using "official" I2C device IDs for internal purpose. There must be some historical reason behind this but anyway, it shouldn't do that. As the stored values are never used, the easiest way to fix the problem is simply to remove them altogether. 2008-07-20V4L/DVB (8245): ovcamchip: Delete stray I2C bus IDJean Delvare1-1/+0
I2C_HW_SMBUS_OVFX2 is referenced in ovcamchip_core.c, but no bus uses this driver ID, so we can remove the reference. As far as I can see, the Cypress FX2 webcam is handled by a different driver (dvb-usb). Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@infradead.org>
2008-07-14i2c-dev: Delete empty detach_client callbackJean Delvare1-2/+0

2008-01-27i2c: Discard unused driver IDsJean Delvare1-60/+0
Discard all I2C driver IDs that aren't used anywhere. That's not just a couple of them, but more like 49 or one quarter of all defined IDs! And this is just a first pass, next will come all IDs that are set but never used, or used but never set. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org>

2005-11-13[ARM] 3160/1: SharpSL: Add driver for Akita specific GPIOsRichard Purdie1-0/+1
Patch from Richard Purdie Add a driver for the extra GPIOs found on the Sharp SL-C1000 (Akita). These GPIOs are found on a Maxim MAX7310 I2C i/o expander chip. A generic GPIO driver for the MAX7310 was attempted but this mini driver is a much simpler and much more effective solution avoiding several issues and complexity the generic driver had (as discussed on LKML). The platform device is required so the device parent can be set correctly which ensures the device is one of the last to suspend and first to resume. Whilst the i2c suspend/resume calls can be influenced, nothing guarantees this is easlier/later than the subsystems the gpios are used on which are all independent of i2c (sound, irda, video/backlight etc.). 2005-09-05[PATCH] I2C: Kill i2c_algorithm.id (7/7)Jean Delvare1-56/+1
The I2C_ALGO_* constants have no more users, delete them. Also update the comments in i2c-id.h so that they reflect the current state of the file. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2005-09-05[PATCH] I2C: Kill i2c_algorithm.id (6/7)Jean Delvare1-0/+7
In theory, there should be no more users of I2C_ALGO_* at this point. However, it happens that several drivers were using I2C_ALGO_* for adapter ids, so we need to correct these before we can get rid of all the I2C_ALGO_* definitions. Note that this also fixes a bug in media/video/tvaudio.c: /* don't attach on saa7146 based cards, because dedicated drivers are used */ if ((adap->id & I2C_ALGO_SAA7146)) return 0; This test was plain broken, as it would succeed for many more adapters than just the saa7146: any those id would share at least one bit with the saa7146 id. We are really lucky that the few other adapters we want this driver to work with did not fulfill that condition. 2005-09-05[PATCH] I2C: Kill i2c_algorithm.id (5/7)Jean Delvare1-64/+64
Merge the algorithm id part (16 upper bits) of the i2c adapters ids into the definition of the adapters ids directly. After that, we don't need to OR both ids together for each i2c_adapter structure. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
