Unlike the previous patch sets, this one contains only the stuff that
I still expect to get merged when it's ready, but not stuff that
is already merged elsewhere or will not be submitted.

To get most of what the previous versions contained, you need
to pull powerpc.git and systemsim.git. The URLs are:
