From: Maneesh Soni o This patch uses the sysfs_dirent based tree while removing sysfs files and directories. This avoids holding dcache_lock by not using dentry based vfs tree. Thus simplyfying the removal logic in sysfs. o It uses two helper routines sysfs_get_name(), to get the name for sysfs element and sysfs_drop_dentry() to delete the dentry given a sysfs_dirent.
